Lisa Loeb is a Jewish American singer-songwriter, actress, and author. She was born on March 11, 1968, in Bethesda, Maryland, and grew up in Dallas, Texas. Loeb's father, Dr. Peter Loeb, is Jewish and her mother, Gail Loeb, converted to Judaism. She attended Hockaday School, a private all-girls school in Dallas, where she was involved in the theater program.
